Rachel Morgain is a postdoctoral researcher in anthropology at the Australian National University, who was born just as Sarah Jane joined the TARDIS. Her Ph.D. focused on social organization in industrialized nations and her interests include the anthropology of religion, gender and sexuality, race and post-colonialism. She has a background in cultural studies and an ongoing interest in the links between systems of knowledge, social structure and oppression.
