Vanessa de Kauwe has a background in philosophy, primarily the Ancient Greeks but more recently specialising in the ethics surrounding the Abu Ghraib torturers. She is an Australian of Sri Lankan heritage, and proudly promotes the interests and perspectives of the Third World. She is a fan of both the old and new series of Doctor Who, having followed the Doctor through time from the first episode to the present day.
